About Company
Batyr Film is a film company of folk, regional and documentary cinema from Tatarstan. We make films about the republic and from the republic: for viewers who see their own streets, language and history on screen.
Our answer to blockbusters is simple: a true story is stronger than special effects. Batyr Film works where big cinema usually passes by — in the regions. We do not look for heroes in capitals: they live in the villages and cities of the republic. We do not bring a ready-made story — we build it together with the people it belongs to.
The film company was founded in 2026 by Makaroverse Alliance producer Dilara Harisova with the support of the Alliance's resources. Today Dilara Harisova is the director of Batyr Film.
Folk Cinema
- films made with the participation of residents of Tatarstan's villages and cities;
- national stories and epics — in the language of the region itself;
- collective projects: festival, contest, films about the people.
Regional Cinema
- films about Tatarstan — its stories, people and places;
- "from Tatarstan" films: shot here, by a local team;
- work with regional archives, cultures and communities.
Documentary Cinema
- portraits of people, crafts, traditions and customs;
- stories about nature, ecology and native lands;
- social films about the important questions of today.
Why Regional Cinema Is a Strength
- Authenticity. We tell stories rooted in real life, in the language of the place where they happen.
- Real heroes. Not actors "matched to a type", but people whose lives we show.
- Preserving heritage. Our films become documents of the region — a living archive of its culture.
- Accessibility. Professional standard without distance: cinema close to the viewer in spirit.
Working Principles
- Honesty. We do not distort facts for the sake of spectacle.
- Respect for the viewer. Cinema that thinks along with you.
- Locality. We talk about a place from the inside, not from the outside.
- Continuity. We preserve national cinema and develop it with modern means.
